St Ives 2XV vs Northampton BBOB 2XV – 11th December 2004
St Ives 2nd XV travelled away to Northampton BBOB with a depleted side of 14 players.
St Ives conceded 3 tries early in the first half due to poor defence. Saints defence improved, however BBOB scored another 4 tries by half time. St Ives performance improved in the 2nd half, however the BBOBs backs still found gaps in Ives defence.
There were some good last ditch tackles by Ives wingers (T. Richardson & J. Richardson). In the last quarter Ives rallied and showed team spirit by refusing to give up. J. Milner (Ives No 8) set an example by tackling BBOBs largest player successfully causing him to lose possession. St Ives had several chances to score in the 2nd half but failed to cross the line.
The score at full time being BBOB 89, St Ives 0 with a hatrick of tries from BBOB players (C. Bentley, M. Kowtton and D. Tavengwa).
