St Ives 2's vs. Biggleswade

The visitors were up against a spirited St. Ives team after their comeback last week to beat a strong Oundle. The pitch was wet and muddy and the wind was strong and swirling but the home side played this to their advantage. The first half saw them playing into the wind and uphill. Keeping the ball in hand they managed two tries from some excellent play, one being converted but a momentary lapse let the visitors in for a try. Half time and the score was 12-5 in favour of the home team. The second half was dominated by St. Ives who used the downhill slope and strong wind to their advantage. Keeping the visitors in their half for most of the game they ran in four more tries with no response. Biggleswade defended well and St. Ives had to work for the win but their determination won the game and 34-5 was the final score.
