A great first outing for the U7s

The U7s fielded two teams for the Cambs Mini Festival at Ely, each with a mix of veteran players from last season and new recruits for this year.

This was the first real fixture for the new players, and they stepped up to the challenge of getting to grips with the rules and following their teammates up the pitch in attack.

Each team played 4-5 matches against various opponents, with more tries than we could count and almost as many tags. The improvement in the play through the morning was great to watch, with some excellent passing moves and determined defence in the later games.

Special mention goes to Edward for picking up the best astroturf burn of the day and playing on regardless for the remaining games, in only his third session with the squad.

Our player of the day was Nathan, who put in superb morning of tryscoring, defensive tagging, and doing his best to organise his team on the pitch.
