Today's match saw a lucky break in the weather, with great conditions for a morning of running rugby and a large army of visiting Royston players who are always keen and ready to play.
With two matches running simultaneously, plus a training pitch for the subs and younger players, there was plenty of good play on show. The boys are starting to show their skills are developing fast after the run of recent matches, and the improving support play in attack plus an understanding (sometimes) of what offside is all about has made a huge difference in the gameplay.
In U7s these days the club coaches don't really keep scores, but the players tend to count the tries and we think St Ives may have shaded it by one or two games, but there were tries galore throughout the morning.
Special mention goes to Joshua for a superb effort in attack, and the Player of the Day went to Edward for an excellent morning of looking for the ball when in support, and running for the try line when he got it.
