St Ives Head Coach Paul Humphreys is delighted to have secured the services of Will Sutton as his assistant for the coming season. Will’s experience as a player included stints with Leicester Tigers Academy and championship side Nottingham.
Will’s own enthusiasm is obvious.
“I am really looking forward to joining St Ives next season. To have the opportunity to build on the positive end to last year (the H&P cup win) is an exciting prospect. I look at the group we have got and there is a great blend of youth and experience. I have worked with some fantastic coaches during my time with Leicester and Nottingham. A lot of what I learnt from them still sticks with me, and hopefully I can put across some of that to this group.
“St Ives pride themselves on having a strong pack. As a former fly half, I want to take full advantage of this platform to let the backs loose. It is always a great sight to see the backs enjoying their rugby.
“I would love to see the team get back to the top of the table again.”
Humphreys added his own comment.
“I am pleased to welcome Will to the coaching set-up this coming season. I pass on my congratulations and am looking forward to working with him. Will brings a desire and hunger to improve the players on the pitch, having experienced and played rugby at the highest levels. He brings a wealth of knowledge he has developed, working alongside established coaches. Will I have no doubt will be an excellent fit for our team and will assist me in taking the team to new heights. Welcome again to the club, we are elated to secure his services.”
Pre-season kicks off already on Tuesday 6th June, 7.15 for 7.30pm, with pre-season friendlies already in the calendar for 12th and 19th August.
