Ives were delighted to get back to playing after a 4 week layoff. An entertaining game was littered with errors in the first half as both sides battled to shake off ring rust.
Three times the Bulls got over the visitors' line. Three times without scoring.
At the other end, a fine move through the backs saw a Lion pass the ball into touch rather than to the winger who had nobody to beat.
Ives finally grounded the ball for a try with the half running out as Pete Fahey completed an overlap.
The "entertainment" continued as the Lions skipper missed a kick in front of the posts. Twice (retaken as Ives players were moving).
The second half saw Ives take control.
The introduction of Ollie Mills and Connor Newsome added energy to the Bulls' efforts.
Four tries at regular intervals through Newsome (2), Sam Marjason-Stamp and Dan De'Ath saw Ives run out comfortable winners, Dan Hawkins converting 2.
