A strong start from Tiger balls saw the team take three tries within the first 12 minutes, but then the opposition woke up and made us work harder. Uncontested scrums (due the opposition prop being an U16 playing up) led to frustration that we couldn't rely on our pack strength at the set piece, but handling was fast and we made use of the gaps in the defence. Another try at 21 minutes to no points from the opposition, so Tiger Bulls were looking in a good place to take an easy win. But as the half progressed our breakdowns were getting scrappier and the opposition were taking advantage, culminating in a try for them just before half time. 5-24 so we were still comfortably in the lead.

The second half saw our breakdowns staying slow and untidy, resulting in the opposition taking two tries within the first 10 minutes of the half. Were we really going to lose this match? But some better play and tidier rucking allowed us to keep possession for a number of phases, and take a fifth try at 15 minutes into the second half. Ipswich weren't taking it lying down and took a try of their own about 10 minutes later, taking the score to 24-31, so with 10 minutes left to play, we were not as comfortably ahead as we wanted to be.

Some fresh legs on and we saw the attack tidy itself up a bit. There was good play from both sides, although our defence thankfully was linking up better. Then, with just minutes to go Tiger Bulls were on the charge for the line, and with a quick pop out to the wing, and we were over for our sixth try and the last score of the game.

Not a pretty match and not the best rugby we've ever played, but we'll take the win gladly and move onwards and upwards!
