Club Policies 3 of 3

3. St. Ives RUFC Volunteer Policy

St. Ives RUFC (“the Club”) relies entirely on volunteers to operate. The Club recognises that all volunteers give generously of their time and is grateful for that.
Where volunteers are involved in activities that require training and support, the Club will ensure that such training is made available to them in a timely manner. Such activities shall include (but not exhaustively):
• Coaching of rugby at all levels. The Club will support the participation of coaches in CPD courses and other training to facilitate relevant accreditation and qualification.
• Coaching of rugby at mini and junior levels. The Club has a safeguarding policy. The Club will support the relevant processes to ensure that that policy is followed on behalf of the volunteers.
• Catering. Volunteers offering support with the provision of food or other victuals will be trained in the use of the relevant equipment associated, for example in the kitchen or bar.
• Grounds support. Volunteers helping prepare the grounds will be supported by those with the relevant experience.
Volunteers will be expected to have an understanding of and commitment to our equal opportunities policy.
The Club recognises that there is no such thing as a typical volunteer our volunteers come from all walks of life with a whole range of different skills and experience. All are welcome to contribute to and gain enjoyment from being a volunteer at the Club.
